Jaxon's Journey Bulletin No. 18

Hi All,

Jaxon has been doing really well at school, all his teachers say how happy he is and how he always tries his best at everything.

We are so proud of how far he has come.

Thank you to all that joined us for the Nike Marathon this year, Jaxon really enjoyed the day.

Jaxon celebrated his 7th Birthday in October.

Happy Birthday Jaxon!

Unfortunately Jaxon is still suffering seizures most nights, we are still waiting to hear from his medical team regarding the trial of the new medication which is taking longer than they hoped. Once we know more about this medication and the side effects Matt and I will make the decision if we trial this new medication or not. Jaxon had a long seizure in November resulting in paralysis on the left side of his face. It was a scary moment for Matt and I as we have never seen this happen before. We called an ambulance, and he was taken to hospital for further testing. They ruled out stroke not long after Jaxon was admitted. Jaxon had a condition called Todd’s paresis which is a temporary weakness or paralysis after a seizure. In true Jaxon form he had all the paramedics and nurses laughing with his wicked sense of humour.

Jaxon has been doing well in his Physio sessions. We received some new AFOs this year which offer more support for him. He has been doing such an amazing job at independent standing which has blown us away. See video below of Jaxon standing all by himself which he has never done for more than a few seconds!

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Thank you all for your ongoing support and love for Jaxon.

See you all in 2025!
