Jaxon's Journey Bulletin No. 4

Hi All

We are currently onto our 3rd type of CBD oil trial. So far so good. We have noticed small positive changes.

Anxious times ahead as we start to wean very slowly off an anti-epileptic medication Jaxon has been on for 3 years.

We are expecting some break out seizures as his brain tries to adjust without this medication. We hope the CBD oil will help with this. It’s all Jaxons body knows so we have to do it slow to hopefully reduce some withdrawal side effects.

After doing lots of research we really don’t know if CBD oil works until off some of the pharmaceutical meds.

We have been able to purchase Jaxon a nest swing for outside which he loves.

We also got him a small trampoline to help him with his core strength and also to try to teach him to jump.

Once again thank you for everyone’s ongoing support.

From Lauren & Matt & Family

DISABILITY TRUST FUND

In regards to Jaxon's Journey Disability Trust with Centrelink Lauren received verbal notification that the Disability Trust for Jaxon had been approved. Notification is being sent through the post to both Jaxons Journey accountants and Lauren/Matt. Once this has been received Belinda will set up the bank account with NAB and we can move forward.

Also thank you to Belinda for collating and looking after the financial spreadsheet for the Trust.

PAKENHAM RACE DAY FUNDRAISER

Unfortunately the COVID-19 lockdown caused the cancellation of this potential fundraiser to

be held at the Pakenham Race Club. We will keep in contact with the PRC for future

opportunities.

TRUSTEES MEETING

Next meeting Thursday 28 of October 2021

If anyone requires a copy of the meeting minutes please contact Belinda at HQ.

CURRENT FUNDRAISING

Recently APM Group held a fundraising event to thank Ted from TC Hire for all his help over the years. Two items both Collingwood Football Club memorabilia including a framed Copeland Trophy jumper with a number of winners signed and a framed Team of the Century blown up coloured photograph were presented to Ted. Also a card with notes and thank you was handed over from APM Group in appreciation of his great service to APM Group over the years. In addition to this presentation $3000 was raised for Jaxons Journey. A big thank you to all members of the APM Group family that donated $100 of their hard earned to this trust. Your ongoing generosity is outstanding to Jaxons Journey.

Domain Concrete have raised with the help of both Jason and Anthony a further $910 (with more to donations to come) from their worksite in Wonthaggi with the sale of pom pom beanies. A big thank you to Gus from Domain Concrete for his outstanding work in raising these funds. Both Matt McInnes and Foss have contacted Gus to thank him for his efforts.

I have asked B to organise another 100 pom pom beanies which will be available in 3-4 weeks as they have been selling like hotcakes. Further to this line of merchandise of fundraising we are looking into obtaining Jaxons Journey caps, bucket hats and keep cups to sell in the upcoming summer and autumn periods.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
